[...] According to Derrick Goold, Spivey’s shoulder is giving him trouble (get in line, dude), but not so much trouble that he would go on the disabled list. So that leaves the braintrust with a move to make. There is one open spot on the 25-man roster, so another one will have to be made to accomodate Josh Hancock and Scott “It’s Nothing Like That” Spezio. Goold suggests that the team likely will DFA Spivey and hope he accepts a bus ticket to Memphis. The other option is outright release. [...]

WordPress does indeed rock. I am still a sub-novice user, as I'm sure it shows. Do you know a way to better organize the categories? I guess WordPress orders them in the order (!) in which they were created.

Flood's own 1971 book, The Way It Is, is excellent - kind of a cross between Ball Four and Soul On Ice. He was the kind of socially aware, articulate, outspoken athlete they had so many of in the late '60s and we have so few of now.

[...] DanUp and VEB have already referenced Chris Duncan’s exciting PECOTA comparables — George (”My middle name is Charles, but I’m not that guy“) Scott, Derrek Lee, and Nick Johnson. I’d been playing around with the idea of a post about various Cardinals’ comparables, so this seems as good of an excuse to do that as I’m going to get. [...]

Those pictures scare me a little. Promise me you won't come home with a tattoo when you get home from school. If you remember your brother surprised me with one. Thank goodness it wasn't anything like that.
